Re: Important Shelby News out of SEMA

David, in no way was my question an attack on Amy - it was a mere question. I feel she has encouraged questions.

Amy has asked me to post her reply as she is in the car.

Hi 68 GT500, If you have read all of the Posts from the beginning, you will see that the same questions keep getting asked over and over. Yes, she has said that she will answer all questions, but the same ones keep getting asked.

Will all new people just now seeing this Thread PLEASE read all of the Posts from the beginning so as to understand what is happening. Please.

I am sorry if I seem up set, but DavidDalton is right. Amy is NOT the villion and neither is Shelby. I don't think it is about the Money, I think it is about the Future. I am sure back in the 70's when SAAC was forming, people were saying it wont last. Personally, I am glad it did and I hope Team Shelby lasts as well. All good things take time.

Re: Important Shelby News out of SEMA

Thanks Amy. So I am to assume that it was CSL who wants the records back from SAAC. Correct? That is all I want to know is who is dragging SAAC into litigation over these documents? Amy, If the documents return are they going to CSI and/or the TeamShelby? Somehow through all the posts I still haven't figured out yet WHO wants the docs back? Must have missed some posts. Gary

DANGEROUS ground Dave. I am a Shelby enthusiast that has owned these cars since the early 80's. I do not have say in any club or do I have any motive for my opinions(other than to better the hobby). Some people here have a financial stake in this subject. To delete posts that YOU deem negative flies in the face of what free speech and these message boards are about. Let the readers decide what is true and what is not. Unless someone goes overboard then I think you should not delete posts. Now I am wondering if I am reading everything. You obviously agree and support Amy in her endeavor which is cool. I am neutral and now am I to think that everything I read is slanted towards TeamShelby? I am excited about this new organization but am also cautious. Gary
PS. By the way I did go watch a football game; Lions 44 Denver 7 Don't get my GT350 vert out too much because of its value and my other GT350 is at the painters so I can't go drive but wish I could.

I have NOT deleted one Post on this topic. I was simply following procedural guidelines as a Moderator on this Forum. I have been one on this site almost since it's inception. I am all about Freedom of Speech. I also own Guns and think everybody who has a right to should as well. I do not think because I own guns that I should shoot people just because they aggravate me. but that said, I do not believe that just because somebody signs up on this forum (which is a privately owned entity that has certain rules and guidelines that we all agree to when signing up) it gives them the right to unjustly accuse people of misconduct, Crimes against Humanity, or simply attempting to aggravate people out of boredom! Which has been going on for two days on this and many other sites with regard to AMY Boylan getting treated Rudely when it is really just uncalled for. If you can go back through the last several Postings I have made and can maybe read between the lines a little bit, you may start to see that I am attempting to Quell a potentially Explosive situation. Not create one. I am a Proud SAAC member. I do not want to see C.S. no longer recognize them and Vice Versa. SAAC can and will move forward no matter the outcome of this current situation. But it will be like Santa Claus no longer wanting to be involved or recognized at Christmas. "No, sorry kids, Get off my lap! I am sitting down because I am tired not because I want to hear you tell me what you want for Chissakes!!" Imagine That. And yes I do like the ideas proposed by TEAM SHELBY as well. I suppose maybe in my show of support for Amy and TEAM SHELBY, some people may see it as me not supporting SAAC. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I have seen people also voice the things that they do not like about SAAC. they did so in a much more respectful fashion and indicated that changes are needed but they still belong to the club. SAAC has a 30 year Head Start on "Team Shelby". that is many years and generations of members who have made SAAC what it is. I am SAAC. and so is every person who joins and renews again every year. this is why people are taking this situation so Personal, myself included. It feels like an attack on all of us to hear that the guy we all worshipped for all these years no longer wants to be our Hero. I am personally doing everything in my power to change his decision. by asking people to knock off the Rude B.S. and Negative comments that do not help this situation, I am doing it to help the Effort to bring people together a success.

Re: Important Shelby News out of SEMA

I have read all of the replies...I have owned just about every year vintage Shelby and I absolutely love that Shelby is again aligned with Ford. In all of this club posturing, me..me..:We have been here longer...." etc. is really starting to make me sick. I have been to several conventions and enjoy the Shelby marque more than any other classic. For the SAAC club to snub Shelby as was stated by Amy, is inconceivable and shameful.

It is Shelby's name, and legacy. If he wants to do something, then it is his right to do so. PERIOD. I never understood why people always complain about him selling his signature....selling popcorn...selling whatever. Did we all forget that we live in the USA...Home of capitalism...free enterprise...etc????

Try this...reach into your wallet, your shirt pocket or reach out to your business card holder on your desk....go ahead and read it...I BET IT DOES NOT SAY "Carrol Shelby" as in "The Man".

His name, his legacy....I don't care what he does as long he stays involved with the industry.

I would like to know how he has been snubbed by the SAAC.
That would probly clear up this whole arguement.

Truth be told Vern, it would only complicate matters further. to me and many others it is Bad business to continue this campaign and just plain Stupid Silly!!! Hopefully the Grown Men involved here, (who at one time were great friends) need to put aside their personal anger and hurt feelings and straighten the matter out. Thousands of people are affected by a Legends decision to disavow them over a disagreement with one or two Men. believing that the Court of Public Opinion is where this matter should be decided only shows me to be a SERIOUS lapse in Judgement! Internal Affairs need to be handled internally. Both parties need to "Do the Right Thing!"

whether or not there was snubbing, no matter. It's a property right issue. If C. Shelby wants to issue, or withdraw, a license to use his name or trademark, that's his right.

come on fellas (and gals), no one is coming to your garage and trying to take your cars away. So let the man take care of his business the way he sees fit to, for his benefit. The same way we handle our own businesses & jobs, for our own benefit.

We, and SAAC, don't own his trademarks. We're lucky to own our little part of the big history

Vern,
That's an easy question to answer. SAAC has always given Carrol hero status. Pick up any Shelby American magazine and that fact is obvious. It has to be something stupid like Shelby's nose being out of joint for SAAC expanding into the SVT cars, a rescue that saved SVT. Could he feel jealous and think that SAAC's attention be partially diverted away from him? You bet. "I'm taking my ball and going home"
SAAC has devoted themselves to Shelby, the cars, and to maintaining the integrity of the Marque. Without their efforts, a Shelby car would be just another hot rod non stock Mustang.

Re: Important Shelby News out of SEMA

Guys, thank you all.....

I will not be posting much after this as I will try to resolve offline.

On the point of the documents, I will say this. In legal licenses , when a license is cancelled a copy of documents is requested incase there are issues down the road, they are ususally kept by legal. I talk to licensing this weekend and forgot that point because this became so personnal to so many. When you have a license and it end, you have to destroy tools, if there is any or send all works back to the licensor, that is common practice in all companies.

That said, I am talking to CSL and Carroll. my last thought is that there are 2 people that could have stopped this months ago by picking up a phone. The phone is still silent....Amazing
