1967 Shelby Original Wood Steering Stain Colors

HI SHELBY FANS: IM CURRENTLY LOOKING INTO RESTORING MY 67 SHELBY GT 350 STEERING WHEEL AND IM CURIOUS IF ANYONE KNOWS THE TRUE COLOR OF THE WOOD WHEEL. SINCE ITS WOOD I ASSUME ITS A STAIN. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE STAIN COLOR? ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW THE TYPE OF WOOD THEY USED IN 67?
I HEARD SOMEWHERE ITS ASH OR BEECH WOOD. ANYBODY KNOW FOR SURE? THANKS A TON!!

Re: 1967 Shelby Original Wood Steering Stain Colors

they were made of Beech wood. the stain was somewhat light and darkened from sun exposure, use, and color of the wood on the wheel itself.
