Carbs for sale GT500 KR 4speed and Automatic

These are getting TOUGH to find, trust me. i just bought one for my KR yesterday. Anyway the guy who sold me mine has 2 other Automatic Carbs and 1 4sp Carb for sale. NOT cheap but he has them. Asking $2500 for Auto carbs, comlpletely rebuilt, $4500 for 4sp carb/rebuilt. He rebuilds the carbs for a majority of the cars you see at Barret, Russo and Steele etc.. Serious inquiries.

Nothing for me in it, just trying help guys find the right parts for their babies.

In the Spirit of the Sport.

Mike

Re: Carbs for sale GT500 KR 4speed and Automatic

For those interested, Carl's Ford sells brand new carbs for 1968 thru 1970 CJ and SCJ Shelby's and mustangs for under 800.00, very acurate reproductions with numbers stamped and dated. Both auto and 4 spd models are available , for more information you can check at the 428 cobrajet registry forum.

I agree the reproductions are nice and a decent price. There are differences however between the repros and originals (as far as the 3 68 428 Holleys)

Tim,
your right about slight differences, my understanding is that some of those have been taken care of and that only a person that really knows what they are looking for could tell the differences, but for that kind of dollar difference it makes sence , unless you are concours showing.

Agreed. Hows the KR? By the way have you seen all the L1 radiators on Ebay lately? Funny how last year you couldn't scare one up anywhere and in the last 3 weeks there have been 3 for sale.

Re: Carbs for sale GT500 KR 4speed and Automatic

Tim,
The KR has been repaired from the near disaster , when the starter selenoid went bad, with a combination of low battery. I am clearing a few projects out of the way and will be doing a complete tear down restoration starting this summer, with the intention of competing in concours II , this will be a two to three year project with me doing most of the work including the paint. So , the cobra will be my ride the next few years, I have been looking at a new Ford GT in the future, just not yet, I have a 70 Mach 1 to finish and sell and then I can start to seriously look.
