Rudy's 65 is on a distinguished road
Anyone from West Michigan - Grand Rapids Area

Greetings!

I thought it would be good to know folks in the area.
I want to have someone who has working knowledge of the
65 Fastback and is experienced in sheet metal.

Its a 5 ft looker, but there is rust in the rear frame extensions,
the trunk, a few spots on the floor, the front frame extensions and
the radiator support. A bubble in the lower right front fender.

I want it to be structurely solid before getting into the suspension.
It sits up ok, it doesn't sag, the doors open and close as smooth as can be.

The left front creaks going down the road. The front and rear
suspension is all original and tired.

If there is anyone in the Greater Grand Rapids area who would be
interested in giving me an estimate in the spring, please keep me in mind.

The car is currently in storage, but it can be shown sooner than spring if
need be, but from the barn. I won't be driving it until spring.

It has a 200 CID Inline Six, 3 speed manual. As much as I would like to
convert to a V8, the car itself is more crucial than the drivetrain.

I have done some cosmetic work to the interior.
I refurbished the fiberglass panels, sanded, filled a few holes
in the floor (still needs work) and painted the floors.

Rebuilt, sanded and painted the air vents in the rear.
The fold down rear seat assembly has been rebuilt - sanded and painted.
I also replaced the rear seat carpeting, sanded and painted the rear metal
trim. The dash was sanded and repainted. Its ok, not great.

The dash pad is in very good, original condition. I have a home made
headliner - looks good for now. Sanded, repainted and covered trap door.

Other than floor insulation, carpeting for the floor, front seat covers, gage
cluster and knob trim, the interior is done. Here are a few pre and post
condition photos and the car in general.

Thanks for your time.

Rudy
