Ford 9" Rear end

Hi Folks

What would be the price in the USA for a Ford 9" rear end?
Regular 3.00:1 no locking differential.
Build maybe 1970??
Condition: working and loosing a bit oil nothing serious.

Thank you

Bye Jerry

From my past experience non locking nine inches are cheap finding the ratio you want and date could get a little more pricey .I would say anywhere from $150 to $350 for a used centre section.

Re: Ford 9" Rear end

There are a number of wrecking yards around here who get anywhere from $50.00 to 100.00 for what you describe, depending on how long they have had it laying around, what it came out of and if the guy working there is suffering a hang-over or not or if he's taken an instant dislike to you. (Don't laugh, I have first hand experience) A 3.0 open rear end would not be considered rare or desirable so it shouldn't be too expensive.

Some tips for wrecking yard scouting:

Don't: Drive your Shelby or anything nice. You will instantly be tagged as a money guy, the price goes up
Don't: Wear anything but jeans. Dirty jeans are preferable. Also, dig an old T-shirt out of the rag bag and put it on. Dirty hands and a little grease on your face completes the effect.
Don't: Attempt to pay for anything with anything but cash.

Re: Ford 9" Rear end

Hi Guys

Thank`s alot for the information guys. A guy here in germany offered
me this 9" rearend for about 250$. The thing is here in germany you`ll
never find a junck yard where they have american cars one. And if there
would be one it sure wount have a 9" in it. So i think the price is ok.
But Bill you´re right what you said with not going there in your shelby.
My buddy needed a small pice for a motorbike and went there in his Porsch 911. He really paied double price.

Greetings from germany
Jerry
