Exhaust question

Greetings!

I have noticed (3) different locations for the exhaust on the 1965 GT350.
In front of the rear wheels at an angle.
At the rear - under the rear valance.
At the rear - through the rear valance.

Which is correct?
If all, at what time did they go from one to the other?

Thanks.

Rudy

Re: Exhaust question

Side exiting exausts were the standard exhaust system for a '65 Shelby.
However, due to some states motor vehicle codes not allowing exhaust exiting
in front of the rear wheels, cars shipped to those states had rear exiting exhausts with down turned tips. Dealers could order Shelbys this way.
There was no thru the valance exhaust exiting tips from Shelby American.
