Torque box front needed??

Hi folks

As you know i´m still working on my R-Model Clone and i´m wondering
if i should install a torque box in the front???
I know Shelbys didn´t have them, but would it be that much better to have
them??
Who is racing with his car here in the forum?
Do you have a torque box in the front in your car? Course 65-66 Cars.
And if not, do you see any cracks in the metal coming or thing like
that? Or do you feel the car could be stiffer in the front?
Let me know your impressions please its important to me.
Here are the newest picturest of the restorations. Hope you like it.

Bye Jerry

Thumbs up Re: Torque box front needed??

If you're building a track car you DEFINITELY want to install the torque boxes. WIthout all the bracing you see used in the BOSS 302 Chassis modification guide (and more) you will see chipping where body panels that normally are an 1/8th inch apart are making contact from the flex the chassis has on the course.

Re: Torque box front needed??

I did a donut in a Parking lot once before I had a Monte Carlo Bar. Chipped the Paint on the front of my fender as the nose and fender moved in opposite directions......every bit of Bracing comes into play if you plan on getting wild. Sub frame connectors are a Biggie as well.
