Don't know what kind of car you're referring to, but is it a dual filament bulb? Maybe the wiring got messed up, too. Best to check the wiring with a voltmeter for all the functions.

my other car which my dad is using. i checked the wiring with the voltmeter, man wire was messed up!
have to bring it to my dealer to also check up on the bulb and everything. i think there's a sharing with electric current..
