Help on installing a Shelby tail light panel

Okay, go light on me. I am CLONING not FAKING a GT500 on my 67 Fastback. Honestly, if I had $80,000.00 or more I'd buy one. Anyhow, I have the Cougar tail light buckets, lenses, bezels, bucket supports and fiberglass panel. Before I get cutting my car's rear tail light panel up, can anybody tell me how all these parts go together? I am looking for a sequence, like what goes on top of what? I don't mean to be stupid but...I am a GT Greenhorn! Any help is appreciated. Thanks, John

Re: Help on installing a Shelby tail light panel

Instructions are below:
Quote:
1- cut the taillight panel to size and attach the fiberglass panel.
2- you will need to thread 1/4" studs approx. 2" in length into the threaded holes on the back side of the tail lamp bodys to attach the black boxes later on that Shelby installed inside the trunk
3- put the bulbs in and set the tail lamp bodys in place from inside the trunk, while at the same time put the taillight lenses and frames in from the outside. The frame studs or screws (depending which type you use), pass through the small holes in the lamp bodies and get nutted on the inside, essentially holding everything in place against the taillight panel.
4- attach the "black boxes" on the inside of the trunk, passing the 1/4" studs through the holes in the boxes. Run nuts onto studs and tighten to boxes. if you want to be factory correct, Shelby also pop riveted the black boxes to the inside of the tailpanel as well.
5- plug in taillight harness to bulbs...done.
These are not my helpful instructions so I cannot comment on the details. I am just passing them along from a knowledgeable individual.
