Description: This is a really nice toploader, recently freshened up, and it came out of a running car. I purchased this unit from a local Cobra owner, who converted to a 5 speed. I was planning to put this unit in my 427 Cobra as well, but have also decided to go with a 5 speed.

Here are the specs....

This is a BIG input, BIG output (31 spline), close ratio unit. It has 1000 miles on the fresh rebuild, where all the syncros, seals, bearings, and other small parts were replaced. It was also found at rebuild time that the rear bearing hole in the case was oblonged, so the case was REPLACED with new. So this is a nice fresh unit, with a new case. This unit also comes with the full Hurst shifter setup. I have driven in, and driven myself, the car this unit came from, and it never missed a beat (that's why I bought it for myself). There is no ID tag on this trans, because the tag is rivited to the case, and the case was replaced.

The tailshaft is a 14" length, and the casting number is C7OR-7A040-A. According to David Kee's ID chart (www.davidkeetoploaders.com), this trans and tailshaft configuration is correct for: 1967 up Fairlane, Cyclone 427, 428, 1968-69 Mustang 428, 429 (14" length, 31 spline).

To buy a trans like this from any of the good toploader rebuilders would cost well over 2k, not including the new case or $250 Hurst shifter.

I would like $1500 for it, and I will ship it for FREE. That's a $100-200 saving alone on the shipping.
